I feel tired and sluggish while taking the tonic. What is happening?

This can happen when toxins are released from the liver and fatty tissues cells.

These symptoms are known as the "healing crisis".

Your body is trying to heal itself but unfortunately, the symptoms can be unpleasant.

This will usually improve after the first 2-7 days.

Please ensure that you are drinking plenty of water as this will assist in the elimination. Reduce the dosage if needed and get in touch with me.

You may also want to add some nourishing lifestyle habits into that week such as go for a sauna, jump in the ocean, sit in the sun, enjoy nature, get off technology and take extra rest.

I love these tonics! Can I stay on them long-term?

For a very healthy person you may feel the wonderful benefits after 1 or 2 Belly Healing tonics.

For a deeper gut and body cleanse you may want to do 3 or 4 in a row.

If you have had serious gut issues for many years you can do up to 5 or 6 in a row (while working with your herbalist or naturopath) after this it is usually advised to have 3-6 months break before returning to another cycle. Every body is different, discuss options with our practitioners.

Why is it a liquid tonic and not powders, pills and tablets? Liquid extracts are a fantastic way to absorb all the benefits of the herbal nutrients, especially if your digestion is not functioning at its best.

Tablets and pills need to first be broken down and dissolved, before they can be absorbed and this takes time and energy. They also often contain many fillers and binding agents, some of which cannot be digested and these can place further issues on sensitive digestive systems.

Liquid preparations also allow for dosage flexibility. Every-body has different individual needs.

How often will I go to the toilet?

You should be going an additional one or two times per day. Frequent bowel movements are necessary to ensure the elimination of waste is happening sufficiently.

You may also notice changes in the stool.

It this all an indication that the herbs are working effectively.

Why does the tonic have a laxative effect? Some of the herbs are very effective at removing waste, mucous, killing unwanted pathogens* and causing the liver to eliminate stored toxins into the digestive tract.

All this waste passes through the small intestines and into the large colon where it may accumulate. Many people on a processed Western diet have a slow transit time, so the purgative herbs ensure that the body eliminates the waste quickly before it has time get compacted or be reabsorbed.

These herbs also tone the bowel muscles for better elimination in the future by activating the peristalsis movement of the bowel. * Some serious pathogens like stubborn parasites may need medical attention.

How long before I can do another detox?

Many clients find that they benefit from a course of the tonics every 4-6 months or after travel and holidays.

Can I use these herbs if I have Colitis/Crohn's?

Yes. We recommend you start on a very low dosage, work with me as a practitioner and consult your doctor first if you have a serious condition.

Can I take these herbs if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes for the program, no for the Belly Healing herbal detox tonics.

We recommend you wait till after pregnancy and breastfeeding to use our herbs.
