What is your response to pain?

Updated: Sep 22, 2023

Many of us who live in the Western world are told to reach for a pill to fix our problems.

Through high school if I got a headache or any form of pain, I was sent straight to the health clinic, usually for a painkiller.

As a child and teenager, I had no idea that these pills might not be the best option for me.

Sadly, this has become what's normal in our society.

With the slightest feeling of pain, many of us reach to pop a pill, which yes might give us some relief at the time but it's not natural and it stops our bodies from telling us a message!

So... What if we stopped and we listened to the signal that our body was trying to tell us...

Sometimes DESPERATELY trying to tell us!

When you are feeling some sort or pain, a headache for example, ask yourself first...

What is going on in my life at the moment?

Do I need water? Nutrients? Rest?

Is my neck or back out of alignment?

Are any medications, supplements or herbs causing these issues?

Is it being caused by food, drink or additive?

A head injury?

Does this feel more serious than a regular headache?

Is this related to my menstrual cycle?

What is that incredible pile of atoms, we call our body, trying to tell us???

When we listen to our body, give it what it needs, often the headaches and problems naturally go away.

Of course, it's not always easy to go on dealing with pain and if you are consistently having chronic issues but can't figure out why...

Stop popping the pills and seek some professional help.

My tip for today:

Let's stop and try to listen to the messages that our bodies send us...

and when we are in pain, try to find out what the underlying issue is, from the root of the cause.
